Brace yourselves, Tigers fans! Only eight days separate us from August 31, when LSU kicks off in the Cowboys Classic in Dallas. Are you ready?

No. 12 LSU will face off against the No. 20 TCU Horned Frogs in Dallas on Saturday, August 31. The Tigers are looking to come roaring out of the gate with their eyes on the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA for the BCS Championship Game.

Last season, LSU finished its 2012 season with a 10-3 record, ending their season with a bitter loss to the Clemson Tigers at the Chick-Fil-A Bowl.

With a extra year of maturity under starting quarterback Zack Mettenberger's belt, the Tigers could find more success on the offensive side of the ball this season.

Speaking of offense, in the off-season, LSU added Cam Cameron to their coaching staff as an offensive coordinator. Cameron, who was released from the Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens, arrives in Death Valley to mixed reviews. Many feel that an uptempo offense is not what the Tigers need this season.

Over at TCU, the Horned Frogs had a record of 7-6 in 2012, finishing seventh in the Big 12 Conference.

One player fans need to watch is TCU's Jason Verrett. The TCU cornerback made 63 tackles, intercepted six passes and broke up 16 passes last season. He was a huge part of TCU leading the Big 12 in total defense last season by a little over 40 yards/game.

With many starters returning, the Horned Frogs are hungry for more.
