LSU wasn't able to hold a 2-0 lead, and California advanced to the winner's bracket with a 5-3 win Thursday afternoon at the College Softball World Series in Oklahoma City.

Cal scored two unearned runs to tie the game through six innings. Then, in the top of the seventh, Cal scored three more runs. LSU added a run in the bottom of the seventh, but could not sustain their rally.

Rachele Fico (20-12) took the loss for the Lady Tigers. Jamia Reid was the hitting star for Cal, going 2-4 with two runs scored.

LSU will next play the University of South Florida in a elimination game Saturday. Meanwhile, Cal's next opponent will be Oklahoma.
