The LSU Tigers Baseball Team started the season with a #1 national ranking. There were a lot of high expectations for the team. Fast forward to mid-May, and fans are excited about some achievements you probably wouldn't expect from a team who started the season with so much hype.

The 19th ranked LSU baseball team won its fourth straight last night as the Fighting Tigers knocked off Auburn 4-1 to clinch the 5th seed in the SEC Tournament.

Freshman right hander Landon Marceaux struck out a career-high seven hitters last night to improve to four and two on the year. Zack Hess threw two shutout innings for his second save.

Cade Beloso had two hits and drove in two runs.

That 5th seed could be helpful for a Tigers team, who seems to be getting healthy at the right time. Even though this team hasn't played up to expectations this year, a lot of that can be blamed on little injuries here and there. If they get healthy and put it altogether in the tournaments, this team still has #1 national ability.

LSU has 17 wins in the SEC, which should be good enough to host an NCAA Regional.
