Saturday was a busy day in South Shreveport, on the LSU-Shreveport campus.

Besides a big basketball game, there was also a doubleheader at Pilot Field.

In Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader, the Pilots fell to the Rams 7-1.

Texas Wesleyan's Mitch McLeod got the win, while the Pilots' David Diaz was tagged with the loss.

The Pilots only run of Game 1 came in the bottom of the second inning when Parker Hebert sent Kade Billeaudeaux home. At that point, the score was 2-1.

Game 2 was a different story when the Pilots edged the Rams 7-6.

Pilots' coach Al Cantwell sent Dustin Doucette to the mound. Doucette struck out seven batters in five innings.

Offensively, LSUS had a five run bottom of the fifth inning. Brendan Meade began the rally in the frame after hitting a two run single to score two runs.

Tuesday, the Pilots will battle crosstown rival Centenary at Pilot Field at 6 p.m.
