The Rally Possum legend continues to pay dividends. After piling on last-minute victories down the stretch in the regular season, and a couple long-inning tournament games, the Tigers have done enough to earn a high enough seed in the NCAA to possibly host a tournament game. Here's more from the Louisiana Radio Network:

"The LSU Baseball Tigers have earned a national seed in the NCAA Baseball Tournament. The Tigers are an eighth seed and will have an opportunity to host a super regional series if they win this weekend’s regional. Coach Paul Mainieri is happy his 42-win team received the proper recognition.

LSU begins Regional play on Friday at 2 PM against Utah Valley, which won the Western Atheltic Conference Tournament title.

Rice and Southeastern Louisiana are the other two teams in the Baton Rouge Regional. The Owls and Lions will play each other Friday night at 7 PM.

LSU’s regional is matched up with the North Carolina State regional. Coastal Carolina, St. Mary’s and Navy are the other teams in the Raleigh Regional."

Friday's game against Utah Valley can be heard across the Shreveport and Bossier City areas on 1130AM.
