LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger went down on a sack in the first quarter of LSU Tigers' season opening win over North Texas Saturday night in death valley.

Mettenberger got back up on his own and walked to the sidelines. After he was checked out, Mettenberger jogged to the locker room.

After just a few minutes he came running back onto the field and went back into the game early in the second quarter.

The Tigers' backup quarterback Stephen Rivers played while Mettenberger was out as LSU moved 68 yards for another touchdown.

Kenny Hilliard led the team with 13 carries for 141 yards and 2 touchdowns. Alfred Blue close behind with 16 for 123 yards. Zach Mettenberger finished 19-26 for 192 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception.
