Two LSU Tigers were taken in the First round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Barkevious "Keke" Mingo was taken with 6th overall selection by the Cleveland Browns, Eric Reid was taken with the 18th overall selection by the San Francisco 49ers.

Mingo was the 2nd SEC player taken, Tackle Luke Joeckel from Texas A&M was the 2nd overall selection by Jacksonville. Mingo played defensive end for LSU, but is considered undersized for that position in the NFL. He may end up playing at outside linebacker for Cleveland.

The Browns have another former Louisiana State player on their roster, Defensive Lineman Kendrick Adams joined the Browns practice squad in December.

LSU Safety Eric Reid was selected 18th overall by the 49ers. San Fran moved up in a trade with the Cowboys to take Reid.

Head Coach Jim Harbaugh heavily recruited Reid for Stanford when he was head coach for the Cardinal, but Reid ultimately chose his home-state and LSU. Now Harbaugh gets his man.  Reid will join former LSU All-American Glenn Dorsey, who signed with San Francisco in the off-season.
