LSU, Byrd Great Chris Cotton Makes Professional Debut

Chris Cotton did not disappoint in his very first professional start.

On July 2, Chris Cotton suited up for the Tri-City Valley Cats, the Houston Astros class A affiliate.

He quickly impressed all of the Valley Cats' coaches after throwing two innings of shutout baseball.

Cotton, who started the game, struck out one batter and did not allow a walk or a hit in the Valley Cats' 2-1 victory over the Vermont Lake Monsters, the class A affiliate for the Oakland Athletics.
