A team of Louisiana first responders is headed for Florida. The Louisiana State Fire Marshal's Office is putting together a team to help with water and structural rescue efforts.
The LAOSFM is sending just under 20 personnel with water and structural rescue equipment to pair up with about 75 firefighters and medics from the state's Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) taskforces along with the Regional Response Team from across the state.
The Louisiana team is headed for Florida today.
Fire Marshall Butch Browning tells KEEL News the team will deploy to where they are most needed. 95 are headed for the region today. They will perform urban search and rescues in the hard hit areas. Browning says this team will be sending 24 boats to help with the recovery effort.

None of this contingent is from the Shreveport area, but local first responders are in the second wave that will be sent in as relief for the folks leaving today.
