The Louisiana Sports Writers Association announced their Player of the Week awards this week, naming players from north of Baton Rouge across all categories.

Univeristy of Louisiana - Monroe quarterback Caleb Evans scored the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Offensive Player of the Week. Evans accounted for 421 yards of total offense and four touchdowns as the Warhawks defeated South Alabama 38-10. ULM has won four straight.

Grambling defensive back Joseph McWilliams got the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Defensive Player of the Week. McWilliams had an interception and led the team in tackles as Grambling defeated Alabama A-and-M.

Finally, Northwestern State’s Hayden Bourgeois was named Louisiana Sports Writers Association Special Teams Player of the Week. He blocked a potentially game-winning field goal in the Demons upset win over McNeese State.

None of the categories went to players from LSU or Louisiana Tech, both of whom won their match ups this past weekend.
