Back in August, our community suffered a major blow as we lost one of our own. Officer Thomas LaValley lost his life after being shot in the line of duty, serving our community.

Since that fateful day, our community has grown closer together, not only by paying respect to Officer LaValley, but also respecting the badge and everyone who wears it.

Governor John Bel Edwards has singed off on a bill that will rename one local bridge in Officer LaValley's memory.

House Bill 110 renames the bridge on LA Highway 154 in Bossier Parish as the "Officer Thomas LaValley Memorial Bridge".

Kudos to Rep. Dodie Horton for filing the bill and our Governor for making sure it becomes a reality.
