For as long as I've been involved in the horse show world of Northwest Louisiana, Katheryn and Bill McFadden have held the K9 Search and Rescue Benefit Show at Holly Hill Farm in Benton, LA Labor Day weekend with the help of their many friends and dedicated volunteers. It's a tremendous thing they're doing for our Shreveport Fire Department's K9 Search and Rescue Task Force that desperately needs any help it can get.

The show is a perfect fit for organizer Katheryn McFadden as she is an avid horsewoman, small animal vet and owner of Town South Animal Hospital in Shreveport. Her husband Bill is equally as involved in the planning of the show and in the community, in addition to working for Sterling Properties.

The event has long been held at beautiful Holly Hill Farm in Benton, LA owned by Robert and Tracy Hewlett, who are no strangers to giving back to the community and hold the only horse trials in Louisiana in the Spring and Fall.

If you like horses or want to support the Shreveport K9 Search and Rescue Unit, come by! Visitors are welcome and it's free to attend. The hunter and jumper divisions show will run on Saturday and the dressage competition will be held Sunday. The show is recognized by both the North Louisiana Equestrian Association and the Tri-State Dressage Society.
