John Lee Wins Louisiana Association of Broadcasters 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award

He is the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award Winner!

John was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1948.  He married in 1969, divorced in 1974 and has never re-married.  John has no children.

Before radio, John served four years in the US Air Force from 1970-1974.

He became Afternoon News Anchor at KEEZ-FM in San Antonio, Texas in 1974, then filled the chair of Assistant news Director from 1974-75 at KXXO-AM and KMOD-FM in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 1975 through 1977, he was news Director at KWBB-AM in Wichita, Kansas.

John started his longest stint at KWKH in Shreveport in June of 1977. John was News Director of KWKH for twenty-four years and his name is the most recognized throughout the Arklatex.

He transfered over to KEEL-AM, News Radio 710 KEEL,  as News Director in April, 2001.John has a whole wall-full of awards from the AP, RTNDA, and SCCA. We like to call it the “John Lee Wall Of Fame”.
