The LSU Tigers began practice Monday for the 2014 season. Defensive back Jalen Mills who was indefinitely suspended from the team following a charge of second degree battery in June, has had his charge reduced to misdemeanor simple battery according to the East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney’s office.

In the past, LSU coach Les Miles has reinstated suspended players to the team after a felony charge was reduced to a misdemeanor charge.

Mills, 20, was arrested June 10th for allegedly punching a woman in the mouth at his apartment complex on May 4th.

Mills, who started at cornerback the last two seasons for LSU was expected to move to safety this season.
