Jedrick Webster ran for 136 yards, quarterback Larry Moton ran for one score and threw for another to lead Huntington to a season opening 22-21 win over Mansfield Thursday night at Independence Stadium. According to the Shreveport Times, it's the first season opening win for the Raiders since 2002.

Mansfield took an early lead on a Jimmy Jones 6-yard scoring toss to Jaylin Wilson before Webster, Moton and company delivered the win for the school on Rasberry Lane.

At BTW, the home-standing Lions watched Fair Park jump out to a 16-0 lead in both teams season openers.  BTW head coach, Kendrick Law watched his young pack score 25 unanswered points to post a 25-16 win. The Indians Louis Smith connected with Robert Rochelle for a short pass deep in their own territory early in the game---Rochelle turned the quick hitter into a 92 yard touchdown to push the Indians to their early two touchdown lead.

BTW's freshman quarterback Malik Patterson proved unflappable in his first start, scoring three times to lead the comeback in front of a nice crowd at Leonard C. Barnes.
