Former New Orleans Pel...er, Hornets, Star Chris Paul has signed a max contract with the Houston Rockets for 4 years, and $160 million.

"For Paul, 33, and the Rockets, this deal sets them together on a path to try to unseat the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference.

Paul never considered leaving the Rockets in free agency, league sources said.

Paul, a nine-time All-Star, and MVP James Harden elevated the Rockets to the best record in the NBA (65-17) this season before losing a seven-game series to Golden State in the conference finals."

Now some are speculating that this is the only possible solution the Rockets could have in order to try and land LeBron James. He's the top name in free agency (well, he's the top player in the world, so of course he is) but will be commanding not only top dollar, but a top squad that he feels he can win multiple championships with right away. So putting Paul and Harden back together is the only chance Houston has at getting LeBron's attention.
