The results of a new survey really hit home for me and I'm betting you'll feel the same way. Apparently 25% of all Americans have never even visited all the landmarks in their own hometown.

The survey additionally revealed that 23% of Americans have never seen a single landmark. Think about it. How often have you said on the weekend, "there's nothing to do around here?" But have you ever visited the Municipal Auditorium?

Once home to the internationally known "Louisiana Hayride" and essentially the launching pad for the career of Elvis Presley, the Municipal Auditorium is even reportedly haunted, so if you've never been, what's stopping you?

How about the B'Nai Zion Temple? Ever just pulled over to marvel at the architecture? Rumors are that it houses millions of dollars worth of stained Tiffany glass windows.

Ever spent an afternoon in the spring at The Gardens of the American Rose Center or marveled at the incredible art work at the R.W. Norton Art Gallery?

I'm guilty myself. Lived here my entire life and have never once visited the Barksdale Global Power Museum.  Their website lists several "must see" vintage aircraft on display like the B-17 and B-24 bombers of World War II; along with their best “Little Friend”, the P-51 Mustang. You can also see Cold War heroes such as the B-52D and B-52G Stratofortress. You'll also be shown the highest and fastest flying jet aircraft ever – the MACH 3+ SR-71 Blackbird.

With just a short drive you can also visit the Bonnie and Clyde Museum in Gibsland or take a tour of Caddo Lake that according to legend was formed by a huge earthquake.

So, before those words "there's nothing to do" hit your lips, think to yourself, "Which one of those landmarks would I like to visit?"
