Haughton High grad Dak Prescott was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys Saturday in the fourth round of the NFL draft. The record setting Mississippi State signal caller was a hot topic of draft day discussion as the 'Pokes are openly searching for an eventual replacement for aging and oft injured QB Tony Romo.

From the Cowboys fan website Blogging the Boys:

"Prescott was once thought of as a running quarterback who could throw a little. That is no longer the case as his final years in college showed he's a well-rounded talent. He certainly has the physical traits to make life difficult for NFL defenders, and he also has a big arm. He would benefit from sitting in a system for a few years while refining his technique and footwork, something he can do in Dallas."

Prescott is Dallas' second pick of the fourth round. The Cowboys' first round selection - fourth overall - was running back Ezekiel Elliott from Ohio State.
