Greg Atoms Fantasy Football Advice: 2018 Quarterbacks

Now that it's Fantasy Football season, some of us feel more complete. Now that the NFL Preseason is winding down, it's time to get your Fantasy Draft in. Some of you have already pulled the trigger on your draft, which is cool, but more and more people are waiting until the final week of the preseason to draft their leagues.

We already spent time this week talking about how important running backs are, and the fact that your first few picks should be based in the backfield, and also what WRs you want to take aim at, but now it's time to look at the guys who will be getting every the ball.

You quarterback generally can't win you a Fantasy Football championship, but that position sure can lose the league for you. When 5-6 teams in the league are getting double digits from their QB every week, and you've got Eli Manning in a rut giving you 2 points a week, that's going to be a problem.

This year, I think there's more unknown in the quarterback world than in any year I've ever played Fantasy Football. There are some players you can really trust, but you're going to find a lot of unknown value ranked high. Guys like Deshaun Watson, Marcus Mariota, and Patrick Mahomes are going to get drafted this year, and some pretty high, even though we don't have rich resumes to go off. Watson has a short stat sheet that looks really impressive, and a stacked offense. Mariota has shown flashes, but has also dealt with injuries. Then Mahomes sat all year behind Alex Smith, but has Andy Reid calling the plays, pro sports pedigree, and freak athleticism. These guys all have promise, but are still unknown products.

Anyway, if for whatever reason, you trust me, and have some big decisions to make coming up, feel free to use me as a tie-breaker for yourself.
