Recently graduated quarterback Brandon Harris from Parkway High School and ready to go to Baton Rouge to begin a new chapter in his life.

Many see going to college as a way to get away from home, but for Harris he sees this as a beginning of an opportunity to work hard and fuel his dream of playing in the NFL.

The Parkway Panthers had the best season on the football field in the history of the program. Most of 2013's success is thanks to Brandon Harris.

During the summer, Harris made his commitment to become a member of the LSU Tigers family.

Over the next few months the entire Shreveport-Bossier community has backed Harris and that support continued this past season when Parkway finished the regular season undefeated.

But, the Panthers faced the tough task of having to play all of their playoff games on the road. Parkway was not allowed to host a home playoff game, due to a ruling by the LHSAA stemming from a controversial handcuffing of Live Oak's football coach during the 2012 postseason.

Despite the setback, the Panthers were able to steamroll their way past opponents and advance to the Superdome for the chance to be 5A State Champions.

The result did not go the way Harris and the rest of Panther Nation hoped, but you did not find a single sad face in Shreveport-Bossier. Everyone was still proud that a man with such a bright future ahead did so much to unite a community.

Harris joined Tim Fletcher on Wednesday morning to reflect on this past season at Parkway, and his appearance in the Under Armour All-American Game. He even spoke of the man ahead of him in the quarterback position at LSU, Anthony Jennings, and Leonard Fournette, the five-star recruit who recently committed to become a Tiger.
