When you have a football program like LSU, you expect to see a couple of your former players make the Pro Football Hall of Fame ballot every year. But when you have a franchise history like the New Orleans Saints, you don't always expect the same.

This year, the two forces collide on the ballot, when you have equal numbers of former Saints, and former LSU Tigers on the initial ballot. Here's more from the Louisiana Radio Network:

"Two former Saints players and a couple of former LSU Tigers are among the nominees for the Pro Football Hall of Fame 2017 induction class. Kicker Morten Andersen and linebacker Sam Mills are on the list of 94 players. The two ex-Tigers up for induction into the hall are offensive linemen Kevin Mawae and Alan Faneca."
