Sad news from Tangipahoa Parish this weekend. According to the Louisiana Radio Network:

"Former NFL player Michael Dwayne Jackson Dyson was killed in a motorcycle early (Friday) morning in Tangipahoa Parish. State Police say the 48-year-old Dyson was driving his motorcycle at a high rate speed when he hit a vehicle that was backing from a parking spot along U-S 51. The driver of that other car was also killed. Dyson played for the Browns and Ravens in the 1990s and caught 353 passes."

Best known in the NFL under the name Michael Jackson, he led the NFL in touchdown catches in 1996 while playing for the Baltimore Ravens. He was a native of Tangipahoa Parish, where he became Mayor of Tangipahoa in 2009. He played his college football at Southern Mississippi, where he was a teammate of Brett Favre.
