Alex Bregman planned to get drafted in the First Round of the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft, but when that didn't happen, he took his talents to Baton Rouge. He had a plan, and everyone was aware. From the moment he took jersey #30 with the reasoning that he wanted a constant reminder of the 30 teams that passed on him in that first round.

Whether it was the chip on Bregman's shoulder, or his natural abilities, he changed plenty of minds over his career with LSU. Enough so that he was taken #2 overall by the Houston Astros in last year's MLB Draft.

So far, that pick has been paying off for Houston. Bregman is one of the shining stars in their stocked farm system, constantly rated in the Top 3 with everyone from Baseball America to SB Nation.

Last night was just another notch in that ranking, when Bregman launched his first career walk-off Home Run for the Corpus Christi Hooks, the Astros' Double-A team.

Congrats Alex, can't wait to see more of this!
