Luke has garnered another CMA Awards nomination in the New Artist category. This is his second nomination in this category. The 45th annual CMA Awards will be broadcast live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Wednesday, Nov. 9 on the ABC Television Network.

“I am so fired up about the nomination for CMA New Artist!,” said Luke from his home in Nashville this morning. “These moments are life changing and I am very thankful to have this opportunity to represent the future of our format along with the other four nominees who I not only consider my peers, but my friends as well.”

The CMA nomination follows in the heels of other great recent news when Luke debuted his latest CD, tailgates & tanlines, in the #1 spot on Billboard’s Country Album chart and the #2 spot on the Billboard Top 200, with sales over 145,296 units sold. tailgates & tanlines is also the second highest selling debut for a country release this year and the album’s lead single and Top 5 smash, “Country Girl (Shake It For Me),” has sold over 1 million downloads and is his best-selling single to date. This new CD is the follow up to his GOLD-certified album Doin’ My Thing, which produced three back-to-back #1 singles - “Do I,” “Rain Is A Good Thing” and “Someone Else Calling You Baby.”
