On a day that had a few hurdles, the finish to the day was a great one for the Evangel Eagles baseball team. The 3rd seeded Eagles beat 4th seeded University Lab 2-0 to win the state title.

The bus taking the team to the game at Warhawk Stadium at the University of Louisiana at Monroe broke down en route to the state title game. But that didn't matter to the team. The guys loaded into parents' and coaches' cars and continued on the way down I-20.

LSU football coach Les Miles was in the stands to watch the game since his son plays on the University Lab team. In the game against defending champ Calvary on Friday, sophomore Manny Miles pitched a no hitter to send the Cubs into the championship game against the Eagles.

Congratulations to the Evangel Eagles baseball team!
