The Evangel Eagles, coached by Tim Hulett had to earn (no pun intended) the two runs that crossed home plate en route to their 2-0 victory over the University Lab Cubs (Baton Rouge) in which both runs were unearned.

Evangel's Scotty Harvill threw a complete game, one-hit shutout on Sunday afternoon to push his team to the top.

The submarine pitcher got 12 of his 28 batters out via the groundout. 49 of his 84 pitches were strikes, which included striking out seven batters in the final three innings of the contest.

Offensively, the Eagles got help from a throwing error in the Cubs' outfield. U-High's Gino Marucci made a crucial error to allow the only two runs of the game to come home.

The Eagles completed their magical season on a 12-game winning streak.
