DeSoto Sheriff’s Office Assisting in Baton Rouge
A lot of local police officers, deputies and firefighters are assisting with flood relief in south Louisiana. Among them are deputies from the DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office.
Last Friday, Sheriff Rodney Arbuckle dispatched the Directed Patrol Unit and Hydratrek amphibious vehicle, operated by Captain Pat Jones, to south Louisiana to assist other agencies with search and rescue operations.
According to a DeSoto Sheriff's Office news release, Sheriff Arbuckle and Jones are working as many as 12 hours a day in East Baton Rouge Parish, and four Directed Patrol Unit deputies are supplementing patrol divisions in various Livingston Parish areas.
