Crawfish prices dropped considerably last week, but some local spots have bumped prices up a bit this week.

The cheapest price we could find on February 22nd for live crawfish is at a few spots. Beaux's Sport and Goods in Haughton comes in under $4 a pound. Shanes and Crawfish Palace are also at $3.99 a pound. Larry P's Boiling Pot is charging $3.75 a pound this week.

You can really find some deals on boiled crawfish. Larry P's Boiling Pot is charging $5.50 a pound this week. Farmers Seafood and Kim's Seafood are charging $5.99 this week. Shanes dropped the price to $4.99 last week but is now back up to $5.99.

Remember these prices will continue to fall as soon as the weather warms up.  Last year, the prices for boiled crawfish dipped below $4.00 a pound at most places. I did find some live crawfish at Brookshires in Benton for $2.99 a pound.  But that is a special and you might call ahead to see if you can still get some.

Best advice to crawfish connoisseurs is to call first before heading off to buy some bugs.  You want to make sure these hot spots are not sold out.
