After last night’s Dallas Cowboys preseason opener, two things became clear. Brandon Wheeden should serve quite nicely as Tony Romo’s back up. And the Cowboy defense will need to improve over the coming weeks.

Dallas lost the game 27-7 to San Diego. In the first half, Charger quarterbacks were a perfect 7-7 passing and the Cowboys gave up an average of 5.6 yards per carry.

On the optimistic side, Dallas was without five of their defensive starters including Mo Claiborne.
