During a luncheon at a local eatery, Louisiana Tech Athletic Director Tommy McClelland announces that the school plans to bid on the rights for hosting the 2015 Conference USA basketball tournament in Shreveport and Bossier City.

This year, the Conference USA basketball tournament will be held in El Paso, Texas, home of the UTEP Miners.

Louisiana Tech Athletic Director Tommy McClelland would like to see that changed.

On Tuesday afternoon he announced that Tech plans to put a bid together to host the 2015 C-USA basketball tournament in Shreveport-Bossier.

He says that Ruston would not be an option for hosting the tournament due to the lack of multiple venues. Conference USA requires a second venue to host the opening rounds of the women's tournament.

McClelland intends for the CenturyLink Center to be the main venue, but would like to use Centenary's Gold Dome, the Hirsch Coliseum, or the home court for the BPCC Cavaliers.

No official bid has been placed by any teams in the conference due to the several teams leaving and entering the conference.
