With heavy freeze and ice storm warnings for as far south as southern Oklahoma, Arkansas and Tennessee, folks around the ArkLaTex are already asking, "What about us?", and "Could schools be closed Monday or Tuesday?"

Well, as far as ice, sleet and freezing rain are concerned, we should be okay til at least Sunday night. Rain will continue through the weekend and - believe it or not - temps on Saturday could be as high as 70. Then the mercury starts to fall Saturday night with a low of 45, which by the way, will also be Sunday's high.

Sunday night is when things get a little shaky. Here's what the official forecast says:

"Mostly cloudy with a chance of light rain. Then a chance of light freezing rain or sleet after midnight. Lows in the mid 20s"

Then the winter weather continues, with temperatures not getting to the freezing mark on either Monday or Monday night:

"Mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of freezing rain or light sleet during the day. Mostly cloudy with a chance of flurries at night"

As far as the possibility of school closings, be listening to 710 KEEL through the weekend and into Monday morning for the latest information, or stay updated right here at 710keel.com.
