After four public hearing a draft recommendation from a citizen advisory committee is recommending the removal and relocation of the Confederate Statue in Downtown Shreveport at the Caddo Courthouse. The statue is over 115 years old and has been the center of controversy ever since the removal of confederate statues in New Orleans.

The group is holding a final vote this Thursday 6pm at the Southern Hills Business Association located at 0701 Baird Road in Shreveport.

The committee hopes to minimize the use of taxpayer money by raising money from the public to pay for the removal.
