Pete Rose taking down catcher Ray Fosse in the 1970 All-Star Game:

In an announcement this afternoon, which was first reported on from the Cincinnati Inquirer, MLB commissioner Bud Selig has announced the return of baseball's most storied event to one of the most storied cities.

This would mark the first time the event has returned to Cincy since 1988. The most notable All-Star game took place in 1970 at the old Riverfront Stadium in Cincinnati where former Reds great Pete Rose tackled Cleveland Indians catcher Ray Fosse to score the winning run for the National League.

This time, the event will take place at The Great American Ballpark.
