Today is National Mom & Pop Business Owner's Day,  so we're celebrating your favorite Shreveport-Bossier Mom & Pop businesses.  Shreveport-Bossier is home to many locally owned restaurants.

Each of them offer something unique that makes  Shreveport-Bossier special and set apart from any other place.  Listeners phoned in their favorite local businesses this morning. Among them,  The Bear's Den off Hwy. 80 in Haughton serving up hamburgers and everything southern.

I like the East Texas Burger Co. in Mineola, Texas, which is something of a tourist attraction, touting "the largest hamburger in Texas."  Bonnie and Clyde allegedly dined there.  Langford Hardware Store on Greenwood Rd., in Shreveport is another favorite store.

Haughton Animal Clinic is another local business that goes above and beyond, according to KWKH listeners.  "It's a great place to take your pets."

Another one of my favorites is Tubb's Cajun Gifts, with two locations,  on Benton Rd., in Bossier and out in the country in  Benton.  Tubb's sells all that hardware stuff guys like,  lawnmowers, grills (the Big Green Egg), and also sells Cajun gifts like foods, chimes and ornaments.  It also carries all your LSU Tiger gear and New Orleans Saints stuff.

Then there's Mom and Pops in Springhill, La., which is a pharmacy that also sells unique gifts, where you can also grab a cup of cappuccino.

There's also  Columbia Café,  located in the heart of the Highland neighborhood and nestled between Centenary College and Byrd High School. It's a little place that has more than just incredible food to offer.

The bungalow has a history that was brought back to life when owner and creative developer, Matthew Linn purchased and restored it in spectacular fashion.

Louisiana's Science Center located at 820 Clyde Fant Parkway in downtown Shreveport serves out of the world yogurt with Counter Culture. The house specialty yogurt is topped with three fresh fruits, granola and honey, in the middle of a busy work day.  They also offer soups, salads and sandwiches  prepared fresh at this Shreveport-Bossier icon now available at 17 locations.
