[UPDATE, June 17, 2014] Shreveport police have released the identity of a woman who died in Sunday afternoon's wreck on I-20.

Investigators say 35-year-old Lisa Blinks of Shreveport was the front-seat passenger in a Chevy Caprice that was headed west on I-20. The driver, 37-year-old Carlos Daniels, lost control of the car, overcorrected and crashed into a westbound tractor-trailer being driven by 60-year-old Elton Munsinger of Carthage, Texas.

Blinks was ejected from the car. She was taken to University Health, where she died from her injuries. Daniens and and Munsinger, as well as two other passengers in the Caprice, suffered minor injuries.

Police don't suspect alcohol as a factor in the crash, but toxicology test results are pending. No citations have been handed out in the wreck, which is still under investigation.

[UPDATE, June 15, 2014] Things are moving slowly on I-20 W, just past Pines road. A tow truck is removing the wrecked vehicle from the roadway.

[ORIGINAL STORY, June 15, 2014] The entrance to I-20 W from Pines Road is blocked after a wreck between a car and an 18-wheeler.

Police tell KEEL News the accident involved a big rig and Chevy Caprice. The car's occupants have been transported to the hospital, but the extent of their injuries is unknown.

The wreck has traffic backed up in the surrounding area. We'll have more updates as we get them.
