Bossier 13 Year-Olds Win Dixie World Series Title
The Bossier Dixie All-Stars 13 and 14 year old teams were lucky in that they didn't need to win the state title to advance to the Dixie World Series. But, it was talent and skill... not luck, that propelled the 13 year old all star team to the Dixie Boys World Series Title. The 14 year-old all star team came just one run and a couple inches shy of winning the Dixie Junior World Series Title.
The 14 year-old Bossier All-Stars won every game until the final when they met the Mississippi State Champions from Hattiesburg. Bossier lost the first game against Mississippi in extra innings. The Bossier kids had would have one more chance to win the title. In the second game, which saw a rain delay, the Bossier kids lost to Hattiesburg 5-4. That game ended with a Bossier junior being thrown at the plate attempting to tie the game. It's a heartbreaking loss for the Bossier 14's, but they take the runner-up trophy.
