Statistically, this is Ryan Dempster's best performance since becoming a member of the Texas Rangers, via a trade that sent him from the friendly confines of Wrigley Field, to the un-friendly confines of the stifling hot Ballpark in Arlington.

Well as it turns out, the weather wasn't the only thing that was hot on Monday night, so was Ryan Dempster's fastballs!

In 8 innings of strong baseball, Dempster only allowed 1 run, and struck out 6 Oriole hitters! Luckily, for Dempster's sake at least, the Rangers' bats were just as hot.

Top of the 1st inning (Orioles): Adam Jones singles to right, sending home Nate McLouth. Score: 1-0, Orioles.

Bottom of the 4th inning (Rangers): David Murphy (who's become an RBI machine this season) sends home Adrian Beltre with his deep single to center. Next batter, Geovany Soto sends home Nelson Cruz, while Murphy stays on 2nd base. Ian Kinsler is able to get David Murphy home via a sac fly. Score: 3-1, Rangers.

Bottom of the 5th inning (Rangers): Nelson Cruz doubles to center, allowing Josh Hamilton to cross home plate. Score: 4-1, Rangers.

Bottom of the 8th inning (Rangers): David Murphy strikes again! Murphy sends home Michael Young with his single to center.

Closing pitcher Joe Nathan was able to shut down the Orioles to close out the game. But, Nathan wasn't credited with a save. Final score: 5-1.
