The man who allegedly pulled a loaded gun on a Bossier City police officer now faces several criminal charges.

Violent Crimes Unit detectives have arrest warrants charging 20-year-old Malik Wortham of Springhill with attempted first degree murder, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, meth possession, drug paraphernalia possession, illegally carrying a weapon with a controlled dangerous substance, and marijuana possession. Bond has been set at $1,205,000.

Police say Wortham remains at University Health, where he continues to recover from a gunshot wound. He was shot by Sgt. Kenneth Johnson after pulling a loaded gun on the officer during a traffic stop at the intersection of Barksdale Boulevard and Westgate Drive.

Sgt. Johnson is on paid administrative leave while an internal investigation continues.
